Intro
I’m going to give you some tips to get free Google SEO traffic. In other words, when people go to Google and search for a given keyword, the idea is that your website shows up, people click on your website and you generate free traffic. By the way, this video is brought to you by Website X, and if you go there you can read all about our website offer, which is specifically primed to bring in free Google traffic for you. So, let’s get started.
Consider the “long tail”
My first tip is to consider the “long tail”. What this means is when people normally target a given keyword on Google, they’ll go after a single keyword. So, for example, they want to rank for a keyword such as “lose belly fat” and will dedicate all of their time to ranking for that given keyword. But that’s naive and that is not how Google works.
The way Google works is Google doesn’t just look at your website and consider whether it should rank for a single keyword, rather what Google does is it decides whether your site is based around a given theme. So, it tries to look at your site and work out whether or not your site is built around a given topic and if so, it won’t just rank you for that keyword you’re trying to rank for, it will rank you for all the related keywords as well.
So what does this mean? Well firstly, it means you’ll need to target more than one keyword at once. In other words, if you’re trying to work out whether a given keyword has got enough search volume, enough demand, and is easy enough to rank for, you’ll want to look at other related keywords to that keyword and see if you can rank for those as well.
So, you don’t just want to go for one keyword that you can easily target, you want to go for several keywords and try and rank for many of them. And in order to do this, you need to understand something called “latent semantic indexing”. Now I know that sounds complicated, but it’s actually quite simple. And what it means is Google organizes its search results around different themes, around different ideas.
Presenting… the wonder wheel
Now while LSI is quite a long term and sounds very complicated, in actual fact you can see exactly what it means very easily. And the way you do that is by doing a Google search as I’ve done here. And you can see, I’ve entered “lose belly fat” into Google and I have the wonder wheel showing up in my search page. And the way to activate the wonder wheel is by doing your Google search and then on the left hand side you’ll see this link here which is wonder wheel.
And what that does is it loads up not just the keyword you’ve entered into Google, but also all the related keywords that Google thinks relate to your original search. What this means if we wanted to, for example, rank for the keyword “lose belly fat”, we would also want to target keywords that Google thinks are related which in this case includes keywords such as “lose weight fast”, “ab workout”, “lose belly fat naturally”, “relacore”, “lose belly fat fast” and so on and so forth.
That way you could promote, for example, the Truth About Abs affiliate program or any other product from the dieting niche or muscle niche and get free traffic.
The other way that we can work out what Google thinks are related keywords to our original keyword is by simply using the Google keyword tool, which you can access here. So if we search “lose belly fat” and scroll down, you’ll see that there’s a list of keywords here such as “weight reduction”, “to lose weight”, “lose weight to”, etc. that Google thinks are related to our original search. And what that means is that if we want to rank for that keyword “lose belly fat”, we also want to make sure that our site, our articles, our titles and so on and so forth are all built around not just that keyword but the keywords that Google thinks are related.
And by the way all of the search engines work in this way; so by doing this, you’ll not only be able to rank on Google and get free traffic from Google, but you’ll also be able to rank on other search engines, such as Bing and Yahoo and get free traffic from them as well. So, in other words, what we need to do here is to target a long tail and that will bring in lots of free traffic for us.
Think in terms of domain “authority”
The second tip is to consider authority. Now Google doesn’t group all domain the same. And in actual fact if you’ve got a domain name that Google views as having a high authority, then you’ll be able to rank for keywords much easier than someone whose site does not have any authority in Google’s eyes at all.
But what do we mean by authority? Well, Google works out authority by looking at several factors.
One of the factors that Google looks at is the age of the domain. So, a domain that is for example ten years old will much, much easier to rank for on Google than a domain which is completely brand new. And you can look at getting hold of aged domains and old domains – there’re a few ways to do this. One way is to buy expired domains, which you can get for example on site stuckdomains.com, and you can buy aged domains, domains which are for sale and have already been online for several years on sites such as digitalpoint, flippa, yourmaindomain.
Of course, authority isn’t limited to the age of a given site, authority includes other factors. And apart from domain age, the other factor that needs to be considered is backlinks and the number of backlinks that a given site has will definitely influence the amount of authority that a site has in Google’s eyes. And one way you can get backlinks is by using our automated website system, which again you can get at Website X
So hopefully, I’ve given you a few things to think about here and best of luck with your Google rankings. Thank you for watching and I will see you in the next video.
