Much of it is served by the ‘baby boomers’ who – now in mid/later life seek to retain their youth, attractiveness and delay the onset signs of aging by not only looking after their facial appearance but their physical appearance as well.
That said – it is an extremely broad niche with several sub niches contained within it e.g. Get six pack abs, Gain muscle, female body building, get bigger arms, get a bigger chest, etc.
The key here when entering this niche is not to start broad as you will quite easily waste a small fortune on niche keywords that are not specifically targeted.
The idea is to focus on a sub niche within the larger niche and hone in very tightly. Also take gender into consideration – lose weight, lose fat etc tends to be more popular with women whereas build muscle tends to be focused around men. For example, Google returned a monthly search volume of 550,000 for the keyword 'build muscle' and the ppc cost will no doubt eat up your budget in no time.
A far better approach would be to go for more targeted longer-tail keywords which will not only be cheaper but also attract traffic that is more likely to make a purchase.
For example 'six pack ab workouts' returns a monthly search volume of 1,600. Maybe not a huge volume but if you can seek out a dozen or so targeted keywords the combine effect is highly targeted traffic more likely to buy.
Remember also that when people start wanting to build muscle they usual focus on the most obvious part of the body first i.e abs or chest muscles and then move on to other body parts like arm muscles, back muscles so these present tightly focused keyword opportunities for you to promote with.
You should take each keyword and run it through Adwords and check out the PPC ads that are running. If most of the PPC are for supplements, diet pills and/or exercise equipment, scrap this keyword because it will not work well for ClickBank products. Keep keywords that have Info products being promoted via PPC as these are ideal for using with ClickBank.
This is another niche in which vendor's tend to be quite "purist" and take their craft and themselves very seriously and don't tend to cross-promote with other vendors. This comes down to the fact that in this niche people tend to buy one guide and stick with it rather than trying several different ways to achieve the same end result i.e building muscle.
Remember too that there are different reasons for building muscle apart from physical attractiveness. These include competition, recovery after injury and building muscle for a particular sport.
The sheer size of this niche is absolutely huge but the key is to focus on a sub niche because each sub niche in itself has the potential for huge traffic that will convert into sales.
The cost of clicks in this niche will also be quite high but don't let that deter you from promoting Clickbank products.
Again look for long-tail keywords or address a specific problem in a sub-niche clicks costs will likely be lower and maybe traffic too but it will be extremely targeted which is to your advantage because it means the traffic you receive will more likely convert to sales.
Browse through the Clickbank Marketplace to see the number of build muscle products then do a search on Google to check out the number of reviews affiliates are running. There is no doubt at all this is an extremely profitable niche just exercise caution on your chosen keywords if you're using ppc to promote.
This is also an excellent niche to use with Google image ads and mass traffic media buying since almost everyone has something they want to improve about their physical appearance and with men it tends to be muscle!
