What The Heck Is A Hoplink?
A hoplink is an affiliate link for a product sold through ClickBank.
An affiliate link is simply a link that a product owner gives you to use when you send referrals to his sales page. The affiliate link allows the seller to track which affiliates get credit for which sales…which gets you paid!
A ClickBank hoplink is simply the ClickBank version. ClickBank manages the affiliate program of its vendors, so using your hoplink lets ClickBank track who sold which product. Then you get your paycheck every two weeks like clockwork.
Signing up with ClickBank to be able to promote products is easy. Once you do, you'll get what's known as a ClickBank nickname, which you get to pick yourself. That nickname makes your hoplink unique. It'll look something like this:
http://yournickname.sellerid.hop.clickbank.net
You'll replace the "yournickname" part with your ClickBank nickname, and the "sellerid" part is typically the ClickBank nickname of the product seller.
The interesting thing is that once you have this hoplink, you have a couple options.
You can always use this link directly on your pages to refer people to the affiliate product, or you can redirect on your site. But you actually don't even need a site!
You can set up what's known as domain forwarding at your domain registrar. For example, at GoDaddy.com, you can purchase a domain and tell their servers to point to your affiliate link whenever somebody hits your home page.
This lets you promote affiliate products without having to set up your own site first.
