How To Profit With High Volume Search Keywords

In this video I’m going to show how you can profit from keywords that have a high Search Volume. So let’s start from the top... What exactly is Search Volume?

The Search Volume is very simply the number of times that a given keyword is searched for on Google US in an average month. So if we head over to the Keyword X results you will see that I’ve searched for the keyword ‘Forex’ and you’ll see that its got a search for 1.1 million searches roughly. So in other words, on average there will be 1.1 million people who go to Google and type in the keyword ‘Forex’ on Google US. And that in a nutshell is what it means.

However, what does it suggest?  It suggests a high demand for information now note I’ve put information in italics, and the reason I’ve done that is because information is not the same as people who are actually looking to buy something. So, for example, a keyword such as ‘music’ will have lots of people searching for it, but they may be searching for free lyrics, they might be searching for gigs, they might be searching for CDs. You can’t be 100% sure exactly what they are looking for, and it could just be free information that they are after.

They won’t necessarily be the buyers that we want to target. And the point here is that a keyword which has a High Search Volume, does deserve your attention, but you need to dig around and not just want to jump in and try and target that keyword.

And part of the reason for that, I’ve already touched on which is that the people who are doing these High Volume Searches generally could be looking at a whole range of things and could be doing really untargeted search, so it’s difficult for us to know exactly what we should advertise and sell to them.
The second issue is that High Search Volume keywords tend to be dominated by big players. So if you go over to Google and search a keyword such as ‘music’ you might see that it’s people like Yahoo.com, or Napster.com, or Amazon or iTunes, or people like that who are dominating, who are coming high for those keywords, it’s going to be very difficult for us as a small individual trying to make a living online to try and compete with iTunes on a keyword as broad as music.

So there are two issues here with High Search Volume keywords. The first is that generally they can be too broad for us to target easily and sell a narrow specific product to. And the second issue is that they tend to be dominated by really big players with really big budgets. For that reason what we want to do is use these High Search Volume keywords as a starting point. So in other words, when we do our search such as this and we see a keyword that has a very High Search Volume, instantly our eyes will want to go over to keywords here and have a search volume that is much lower. So in other words, we want to turn our attention to the so called ‘long tail phrases‘ that have searches of between one and maybe fifty thousand searches per month such as these here.

We want to look at those and look for keywords that fall within that range that have high PPC and SEO scores. So in other words, we are looking to find a sweet spot of keywords that are profitable, but have a search volume that is not so high that the big players are dominating and they not that targeted and not so low that it’s not worth us targeting. In other words, we are looking for related keywords, keywords that are related to that initial High Search Volume keyword that we found.

Then, once you’ve found the winner, we want to go and look at the ‘Make Money’ section inside Affiliate X which you can access here and which is going to give you a summary about our PPC and SEO methods on how to actually make money and target a given keyword.

So that’s how we make money from High Search Volume keywords. We need to dig around them and look at the related keywords and find related keywords that have a high SEO or PPC score. So thanks for watching and I will see you in the next video.
